John Elia Biography

John Elia (1931-2002) was a prominent Pakistani Urdu-language poet, philosopher, biographer, scholar, and scholar of literature. Born as Syed Hussain Talib on December 14, 1931, in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, India, he later adopted the pen name John Elia. His father, Allama Shafiq Hasan Elia, was a well-known scholar and poet himself.

Elia's poetry is known for its depth, intensity, and profound exploration of emotions. His themes often revolve around love, heartbreak, existentialism, and the complexities of human relationships.
